Our second Build Care Charity Lunch was a sold-out success! With 250 generous guests from the Newcastle community, we raised an incredible $110,000 towards the commencement of Project One.
A heartfelt thank you to all the local businesses and individuals who donated amazing auction prizes—your support truly made this day possible. A special thanks to our amazing MC Steve Philp, and key guests Alex Noble, Julian Wilson, Millie Elliott, Philippa Anderson, and Kai Otton.
[Buildcare X Gold Coast Marathon 2024]

2024 marked the third consecutive year of Buildcare’s participation in the GCM, with 26 runners taking part over the weekend in what has become one of the highlight weekends of the year for all involved.
The Buildcare team was able to raise over $10k in additional funds and finished in 17th place out of more than 100 Charities who competed across the weekend to raise money for their causes.
All donations and contributions will help Buildcare in its mission to find a cure for SCI.

On Friday the 31st of May Buildcare held their first Annual Charity Lunch presented by Major Sponsor Knight Frank at the Merewether Surfhouse overlooking the iconic Newcastle coastline.
The 2024 Charity Lunch saw over 200 people from the greater Newcastle business community come together as a collective to show support for Buildcare and its first major initiative, Project One.
The afternoon culminated with the announcement that collectively over $105,000 was raised towards the construction of Project One.

Back by popular demand, Buildcare’s ice bath challenge hit the shores of Merewether Beach NSW on October 28!
What better way to learn more about the day to day challenges facing people living with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) than pushing yourself to sit still (and hopefully smile!) in a big pool of ice?
Did you know that the majority of people with SCI do not have the ability to regulate temperature? Leaving them feeling uncomfortably cold in even the most regulated temperatures?
Thanks to the generosity, support, and fundraising efforts from the community, well over $35,000 was raised for Buildcare.

Buildcare embarked on a challenging journey, walking the historic Kokoda Trail, to raise funds and awareness for this noble cause.
Walking the Kokoda Trail, a path brimming with historical significance and physical challenges symbolises our dedication to overcoming hurdles. By embracing this arduous journey, we aim to inspire change and propel the mission of Buildcare forward.
Every step taken along the Kokoda Trail is directly linked to transforming lives. The support will make a profound impact; supporting Buildcare to provide essential housing for people living with spinal cord injury.

Buildcare participated in the Gold Coast Marathon in Queensland, Australia event on July 1-2, 2023.
The Gold Coast Marathon is a world-class international event that attracts participants from around the world, featuring eight races including the Gold Coast Marathon, CPL Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Southern Cross University 10km Run, CPL Wheelchair 10km, Gold Coast Airport 5km Fun Run, Health and Wellbeing Queensland 4km Junior Dash and Health and Wellbeing Queensland 2km Junior Dash.
The Gold Coast Marathon is renowned for its flat, fast, and scenic course along the city’s surf beaches and stunning broadwater. The event also features ideal winter running conditions, with low humidity, little wind, and mild temperatures. Over 60% of participants achieve personal best times each year.
All donations and contributions continue to help Buildcare in its mission to find a cure for SCI.

[Buildcare X AME Management]
Through the incredible generosity from the teams behind AME Management and FOX Australian Supercross Championship, Buildcare were pleased to have received a Yamaha YZ250 to raffle off to a very lucky winner.
All funds raised through the event went directly to Buildcare, and are being used to create a better future for individuals faced with spinal cord injuries.

[Buildcare Breathe and Freeze 2023]
Fuelled by the personal journey of one of our Directors, Jason, a young, C4 quadriplegic, Buildcare partnered with local breathwork expert Gene Kelly to create our first annual event – Buildcare Breathe and Freeze.
Aimed to expose just a minute portion of the physical discomfort that people with injuries like Jason face every day, this event saw breathwork instruction being given over the weeks leading up to the event, with Saturday, November 5, having teams of 21 people at a time immersing themselves in ice baths on the beach to raise money and awareness for the cause.
